KP, I'm inclined to agree with you... I have a betta, not an animal I ever considered to have much of a personality (or intelligence), however, I recently discovered evidence that my fish not only has some degree of memory, but taste too!
Food 1 is this flake stuff, comes in a green jar, the betta will eat it but is not a huge fan. When I approach with the green jar, no special response.
Food 2 is bloodworms, comes in a yellow jar - the betta looooves the bloodworms, and when i approach with the yellow jar, he goes bananas (swims against glass, does laps etc.)
The thing is, I dont usually feed the fish one or the other at any given time, it is essentially random what I feed him and when, but the result is always the same: Green jar = Yawn, Yellow jar = OH BOY!
