Total moron I am. I was unloading an engine (Saab 2.3l for 9000) from back of a Yukon using a Cherry picker. Because I was hurrying, I hooked it to the side plate (the big hole where the starter mounts to). I got it out and swung around to get it in place to set it down. SNAP and CRASH, the casting broke and engine landed on valve cover from about 3 feet off the ground. (no one hurt). It seems that everything is intact. No cracks on head, initial glance. After I change the broken side plate, do you think the engine would be re-usable? I was planning to drop in to my '94 9000 Aero (to be used for autocross). Anytests I can perform?
Thanks,
James from Michigan
