Not so big of an alternator
Power = Voltage*current
so
Current = Power/Voltage
or
Current = 746watts/12volts = 62 amps
Most alternators today are rated at 70-100 amps.
Using a scroll compressor would limit the spike needed to start a piston type compressor. I would just make sure I have a good battery...Optima spiral !
I just wish new cars came w/ fresh air vent like my old 96 has. The inlet is right at the bottom of the window and goes directly to a vent pointed at my head.
Your engine is getting robbed that much in power from the a/c via the belt anyway.
