used to brew my own in college b/c it was nearly as cheap as beast. haven't done it since. i've been thinking of taking it up again. problem today is that the fridge (with empty keg) temp at 3:30 pm is nearly 60', though the keg feels much colder. ambient temp is 100' today, which is hotter than usual even in new orleans in the summer (usually ~95'). i may try installing more foamboard insulation in the fridge, though there isn't much room. another option is putting the keg in there, then filling all voids with great stuff, making a keg cocoon. since the freezer shelf/evaporator is in direct contact with the keg, it's quite possible that the keg temp is less than the air temp. more tests needed...
