Many thanks all. Such fast replies.
Best to get personal experiences than the PC store clerk or what MS says. I tend to turn off the Gee-whiss stuff anyhow, so it should be OK. I would consider another HDD, but since it is an ATA-33 drive and MB, I did not want to get a new controller card for such an old PC, plus the new PC has dual 170GB drives so I should be OK.
I may go XP-Pro, but home is OK for this one.
