If you own a house, consider taking out a home equity loan and pay off the student loans. I just took out a home equity loan for 5% for 15 years and in addition to some other things paid of a student loan locked at 7.75%.
But be careful as there are tax considerations (I'm in a tax bracket where my student loan interest is not deductible, but my home equity loan is). Also student loans are discharged if upon death, and obviously a home equity loan is not. Not a big factor, but wanted to point it out.
