I agree with you, I held out on OSX even though I've been using UNIX based systems since 1986 and love UNIX (LOVE). I stuck with 9.2.2 for a long time, well into the 10.3 OSX releases and then "I Switched" and am on 10.3.9. I have to admit, I went from at least two system crashes a day to not yet having even my first system crash on OSX and it has been about 10 months so far. That alone has saved me many hours of work and frustration. I keep my Mac behind a NAT/Firewall and use Apple's built in stuff too, but you're right, it's just a matter of time. Apple's lower marketshare is its biggest weapon against attacks, imho. Anyway, computers are still a crapload of fun and seem to be getting more fun all the time!
