Cool Tech - Sequil Systems Cell Phone Booster Posted by Scott Paterson [Email] (#13) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Scott Paterson) on Thu, 13 Oct 2005 22:30:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So, I was complaining about my T-Mobile Sidekick/Hiptop not getting any coverage at home and a Saabnet.com user emailed me because he works on a cell phone booster product. He said it would work with my Sidekick, but I was pretty skeptical. Anway, he said if it didn't work, he'd let me return it and if it did - he'd put an ad on the site for the product. So, how could I lose. I bought the unit, installed the mini antenna on my roof were I used to have my public wifi antenna (so that was a really quick an easy install) although it didn't need to be outside - the manual says in the attic is good enough. The included coax was the perfect length to my office and I mounted the indoor unit on the wall in a discrete location. And voila, the thing works awesome. I went from no signal to full signal in all rooms of my house. I can now lie in bed at the end of the day and make sure I've responded to all my saabnet.com emails. The wife.com unit isn't entirely happy about that, but what we also found out is that it works for her phone too. She didn't have much of a signal problem, but on rare occassions her cingular would degrade, but not anymore at all. Anyway, you'll see Sequil Systems banners around the site and I wanted to give the product a thumbs up. It was a hassle to have to call into voicemail instead of being able to actually answer my cell phone and I can use my long distance minutes there instead of on the home phone too, besides syncing my calendar, address book etc.
And it's from a Saabnet.com site user too.
Cool stuff,
-Scott
