DC-10. American mfgs aren't immune. I know alot of airline pilots and many of them feel Boeing is sub-par in many, many saftey factor. One really nice features about Airbus craft is that their cabin are all the same. Boeing has very little to no uniformity among models making cross training nearly impossible, leading to the inflexibility of crew; leading to greater employment costs for the airlines. This, combined with Boeing jets that on average use more fuel than the competition, isn't doing much good for the industry.
