Actually, I think they are the "supplied" announcers based on the network. They were also doing the post-game, etc.
I just think he is sort of an idiot. A goalie (which probably explains it), but makes comments that, especially for a goalie about a goalie, are sometimes inaccurate, or common sense (for a player) that is missed. Didn't see it hit a post, or stay out of the net, or some comment about a goaltending situation that seems, or in some cases IS off-base. He has moments, and is not as bad as Darren Pang (don't get me started on how poor he is) or Melrose (oh I'm great 'cause I have a mullet and coached Gretzky). I understand most announcers are biased, but sometimes it goes too far (as with NESN), and I will even include the Sabres announcers. Oh well. I just get frustrated when announcers who were actual players (further than I made it) make inaccurate comments about situation they should be familiar with. I know not everyones perfect, but when it happens with some frequency, my patience wears thin. I imagine it's tough to do it real time, but especially when they are reviewing a play, or intermission/post-game... think about what you're saying. Please?!
Harry Neal (sp?) and the boys (although EXTREMELY biased) on CBC-Hockey Night in Canada, are probably my favourites. Nothing like a Coaches' Corner with Grapes! :O)
But again, these are just my pennies..
