You should look into doing a semester there, I'm sure it's not uncommon.
When I was in college I looked into going to school in Halifax for a semester because I loved the city on a visit. I looked into Dalhousie who would have put me through the admission process as if I hadn't attended college before (SAT type stuff). Dal's Canadian Ivy League.
I also checked out St. Mary's University where it would have been simpler to transfer in for a semester. I spoke with a woman in the admissions office and asked if I was unique and she said "oh, we get kids from the States all the time."
I won't bore you with the details of why I didn't follow through but let me advise you to follow your dreams (as cheesy as that sounds).
