My personal Winter safety tip: Look at their wheels....

When I approach a car from the side whether it be a crossing road, a driveway or some other intersection, my first glance is at their wheels. In Winter, if a car is approaching an intersection and the fronts are locked, then you can be ready. If a car is approaching or pulling out slowly and the wheels are spinning wildly (fronts or rears) then you can expect it might stay moving at that rate OR maybe shoot out. To me, this indicator gives you more information at a glance than does car speed. It lets you know more about what might happen next....
