and your post answered some of the questions my local dealer couldn't. In their defense, they were trying to answer my questions but I strongly suspect I will be their first Euro Delivery customer. I am planning to stop in at Saab of Troy today, the largest US Saab dealer and not my local dealer, just for Euro Delivery answers - hopefully.
My questions are:
Travel Voucher - How is it paid? You said you received a $2000 check directly from Saab for each car ordered. Great!!
Option Pricing - You said options are 5% discount from MSRP.
Taxes - You said you still had to pay State Sales Tax, bummer......
Timing of Delivery - ??? Do you set the date? How far in advance?
$130 Dealer prep - ??? Do you still pay this to the local dealer?
Even though I qualify for GM Employee Pricing, the Euro Delivery price is cheaper by a few hundred. Since air fare from Detroit or Chicago to Stockholm is under $600 (ORD to STO is a non-stop!), the $2000 check from Saab makes the deal sweeter yet!
Please give us all the details on your return.
BTW - I too will be picking up a 9-3 Sport-Combi via Euro Delivery if all goes well.
Thanks for the info.
