I worked for a nice bank in Chicago that was bought by BofA in 1994. They came through and told us all our business account procedures were going to change on "Day One", including the forms, customer balance reports, statements, everything. We said it was going to cause a lot of misery to long-time clients who were used to our simple system. They said, "We're the Bank of America and this is how we do it - the customers will have to adapt." Many of our clients adapted themselves across the street to Harris, Northern or First Chicago.... When NationsBank took the old BofA over four years later, more of less the same thing happened. Ditto on Fleet more recently. So the old BofA is long gone, all except for the hijacked name, but I see the peanut gallery in Charlotte running the bank these days hasn't learned to focus on the client. Happy adapting to all.
