I just wanted to give an acknowledgement of the great service that I've received from Tom Kelley SAAB (Ft Wayne, IN) in the past 3-1/2 years since I bought my car from them.
Late Thursday night, headed home on I-69 (about 70 mph), I suddenly see a dead adult deer lying crosswise in the middle of my lane. No time to swerve and miss it completely, no time to scrub any appreciable speed by braking (would only drive front of car down, if I even had that much time), I just let up on gas, centered a little bit on it, and thumped over it. A couple of hundred feet ahead, saw a mini-van pulling to side of road, must have been the vehicle to initially hit it.
My exit 1/2 mile ahead, I took it, pulled over at gas station, expecting to see my front air dam destroyed. NO apparent damage, everything looked OK, pulled a little fur out of a wheel, continued home. In garage, looked underside over with flashlight, everything looked OK, except for the plastic shield under engine was missing a chunk, but rest was still fastened solidly.
I was leaving work early next day (Friday) to take family down to Indy (120 miles) for Pacer game (who fell apart in 4th quarter), and really wanted dealer (less than 5 minutes from work) to take a quick look and make sure I wasn't missing anything. They were short-handed due to holiday vacations, but he said bring it in. It only took them about 10 minutes, said everything OK, no charge. Granted, might have been *uncomfortable* to charge someone for 5 minutes of shop time, but I was prepared to pay for 1/2 hour or whatever their normal minimum charge was.
This is typical of the service that I have received there. Thanks Kelley.
