I spoke with a DOT attorney regarding my issue. He handles the regulations. I was told I can file a NHTSA complaint which I had already done, but filed another one just for good measure. He had no idea how or in what priority NHTSA looks at the complaints. He had no where else to send me other than perhaps my state attorney general’s office, whom I already spoke to. They will take my complaint and send it to the company with a cover letter from their office. That is all they have the manpower for unless they get a series of similar complaints.

I am wondering if perhaps the FTC can be of any assistance. Vehicles are sold across state lines and imported from all over the globe. Maybe the FTC has its foot in the pie as well.

Another option might be one of the automobile magazines. I think one of them called out Nissan on some horsepower numbers a few years ago. Does anyone know which magazine it was?
