Sure you can. Most lip balms are petrolatum based (vaseline) with some wax or cocoa butter for more body, and some moisturizers like aloe. Nothing there that would hurt your skin or ears. It might leave them a bit sshiny and glossed, but won't hurt them.
Or you can go toa store like REI. They have handy small containers of SPF 30 sunblock especially for the face (including ears). These are used by lots of outdoor types from skiers to high altitude hikers.
