These guys are making it sound way harder than it is or needs to be. Get Ghost, burn an image of the current installation on a number of DVDs. Turn off computer, yank out old drive, throw in new one. Turn on computer, boot from DVD and install the image on the new drive. Done deal.
I'd prefer to just install the OS from scratch and then copy the files I need to keep. It might be a bit more work, but you get a nice new clean install.
