I went with a Ximeta Netdisk. It's an external enclosure that can be hooked up either USB 2.0 or via Ethernet. There's a small client utility that has to be loaded on each machine that needs access if you'd like to use it on your network. Once hooked up, it just mounts as a regular hard drive which is nice because some music streamers won't play off of a typical NAS device. Also, you can choose either read access or read & write. I only keep it on write when uploading more music to it and then quickly switch to read only so it stays safe. I got a 160gb model (149gb fully formatted), that's used solely for music, and only has about 45gb of space left...so music can accumulate quickly. I chose this so any computer can access it, and I can take it with me. They make different models with various size drives, or you can just buy an enclosure for $100 or so and put your own drive in it if you wish...up to 500gb I guess. It's a great little device and I've used these many times for setting up clients with wireless music throughout their houses.
