I can't think of a US region where cars last longer than western Oregon and Washington. In my experience, the "extra" moisture is more than compensated by the lack of heat and UV damage when compared to California, where I live now. Generally, western cars--those away from the ocean or mountains--last a long time compared to the rest of the country.
e.g., my mom got twenty years out of a '75 Audi, cars noted for their flair for rusting. It was deep-sixed by an accident, not falling apart or dissolving.
