Saab Logo/Emblem Replacement

This question has likely been posted on this bulletin board before, but I wasn't here then, so please forgive me.
As a lot of Saab owners know. That blue griffin emblem on the hood and rear of the car can, all of a sudden, "fall off". I don't mean the whole thing. Just the blue and red Griffin area. It's like nail polish. Once it's gone, it leaves a silver stainless-steel like finish and any blue and red that might be left. Yuck. Since, according to my local Saab dealer, the emblem is glued on, rather than screwed on. It would need to be carefully removed to be replaced. I wish that in knowing that this happens to them, that they would have screwed it on, for easy replacement, but perhaps it would leave it open to rust issues, and since it makes your Saab look old before it's time, perhaps you'd just want to get a new one.
Anyway, I just want to know if anyone could tell me how to remove the whole thing without damaging the surrounding auto paint, what is the best glue for adhering a new one, and whether I should put any clear sealer coat over the new one from preventing this from happening again.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!!!
