Keep us posted on your experiences with the Intel-based box.
Been using Macs exclusively for 15 years. Barely know what to do in Windows. They are incredibly robust, very reliable and can take an astonishing amount of use and abuse. With OS X (Panther or Tiger) they just run and run. Worth the premium you pay for them in reliability and elegance of the OS. Friends and colleagues with Windows often comment on how nice the Mac works, but their companies sentence them to Windows boxes. Things like the Dock amaze them.
Mac Classic (donated)
Mac II (sold)
Quadra 650 (still runs, not used in 4 yrs)
Powerbook 520C (still runs, not used in 6 yrs)
Powerbook G3 (Retired, needs new hard drive after 5 years of 10-hour days and international travel)
iMac (family computer, replaced the Quadra 650)
Powerbook G4 15" (turned over to family)
Powerbook G4 15" (daily driver since December)
coming soon: iBook for college-bound daughter
