try McLube Sailkote. Sailkote is a _dry_ lubricant and works extremely well. Developed for the America's Cup, it was the "secret" lube that Conner applied to Stars & Stripes immediately prior to the finals in Perth. I've used it and it WORKS long term. It displaces water and leaves a dry silicone finish. It will eventually degrade, but for the most part, in heavy offshore racing, once a month on parts routinely exposed to seaspray is sufficient. Once a season if the part is somewhat sheltered from direct seaspray.
