O.T.: Memory card is transgendered...... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 2 Apr 2006 12:33:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 256 SD memory card made by SanDisk. Just last week (after dumping files to my PC) it stopped accepting data from my digital camera. In fact, the camera won't even turn ON with this card installed. Without the card the camera will work (Kodak CX7430) storing pictures on internal memory.
I place the memory card in the Multi-Media Dashboard of my home PC and the computer views it as a Memory Stick, not a SD card! Apparently the card has lost some bit of code that identifies what it is, or the code has been corrupted to a memory stick identifier.
I tried re-formatting the card based on advice from SanDisk's web site but to no avail. Since the PC views it as a MS device the re-format may have done more damage than benefit!
Anyone else encounter anything similar? The card worked fine for over a year. I have dumped photos from the card to my PC many times with no problem. Weird!
