They are not using aluminum but steel (sheet metal) in the cans and they sometimes looks like footballs from all internal pressure of the fermenting process.
So I'm not surprised about the ban but I also thought it had been in force for a long long time.
I did read a similar article in the Swedish press today so I guess I was wrong in my assumption that it was an old ban.
And yes, the general publics view of the smell if all their luggage has been "contaminated" is nothing to sneeze at.
My good friend and neighbor keeps telling the story from one time we were out with the jetskies in LA harbor and I took a couple of extra turns around the bait barge anchored inside the breakwater to serve the fishermen going out, and he thought I was circling, waiting for the buffet to open.
