After driving several older Saabs, I bought my first new car about 18 months ago, a 2005 VW Golf TDI. I love the milage, comfort, and performance. But the car has been having a LOT of issues. All under warranty, but in 18 months the car has gone in for repairs 6 times. Some of the defects were pretty major (passenger door was not properly adjusted and rubbed a lot of paint off the door edge and the door jamb, took VW almost 9 months to ok the body work to fix). I am getting frustrated with the car. I have been shopping around for a newish Saab 9-3 or 9-5 wagon and have found that due to the excellent resale value of the TDI I can make an even trade on a nice used Saab. Part of the appeal of buying new was the belief that I would NOT have to bring the car into the shop all the time. Should I jump ship with the VW or should I hold it til the warranty runs out? Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
