I'm sure some of you tried this stuff already, but this was the first time I used Plastex. I pulled both front cornering lamps from 9K Aero. They are held in by a spring clip that fits into two small holes on some tabs, brackets, whatever. Anyway, both tabs were damaged on one light. The upper one still had the hole but was missing a chunk and the bottom was gone completely. Plastex is a kit to repair broken tabs, cracks etc in plastic. You pour the plastex powder in the crack and drop some of the liquid glue to harden it up. It also comes with a reusable molding material for more complex shapes. plastex.net.
I heated up the material and formed it over the good tab on undamaged lamp. I than placed this on the damaged tab and poured the powder/liquid combo. After about 20 minutes or so, it hardens enough to remove the mold. Final drying took a few more hours, but I left mine overnight. It worked great. The stuff comes in black, white and clear. This was my first time I used it and it paid for itself already. See the link for pics. Next up is a broken mounting tab on an intercooler.
