Isnt the underground Swede shop right by your house in the vicinity of the intersection of 4th and Atlantic?
I've been dropping my cars off at Rocco's Auto for seven years. Rocco is a great guy who -and this is what keep me coming back- actually takes the time to explain the problem, show you what went wrong, parts, what they do to fix it and any potential trouble spots. Their work is top notch, Rocco test drives all cars after the work is performed and is available to answer calls and questions while the car is being worked on. He has two understudies who also perform jobs but I've noticed he works personally on the tough Saab jobs. He has Saab owners who keep coming back, some classic non-Saabs and a slew of the usual minivans. Robin, his wife, does the scheduling and phones. The only downside is that they are mon-fri only. They are located within walking distance (2 blocks) of the N train on 7th avenue and 65 street. Rates are a reasonable $68? i think.
