This is certainly off-topic, but you guys seem to know everything... I don't have cable or dish TV, and I'm very reluctant to pay for it. I actually don't really watch much TV, but my wife watches a little and is annoyed by the crappy reception and inability to record shows. If I don't fix it this summer, I have to bite the bullet and pay for cable. I really want to avoid buying cable...
I have 2 TV's and my wife had a HDTV card in her PC. The problem is reception.
TV 1: HD over-the-air receiver with nice big UHF antenna in the attic. Gets all channels except maybe NBC.
TV 2: Bedroom TV - Not HD, external antenna (glorified bunny ears). Gets NBC well, but not Fox and a few others.
PC: HD card with crappy UHF antenna. Not reliable at all.
I have 2 things to consider and I'm hoping you guys may know.
1. If I buy a 2nd UHF antenna, run it in parallel, and point it at NBC's tower, will I improve reception. In other words, will putting 2 antennae in parallel improve things, or weaken things?
2. Can I send the UHF antenna signal to 2 TV's (TV1 and HD PC card)? Do I need some kind of box that connects the 2 antennas (see #1) and the receivers.
