If these doping scandals are going to effect the focus of suspect teams and management, then look for teams and riders who have escaped negative scrutiny. Watch Floyd Landis. Or one of the Discovery blokes such as Hincape. It really is a team sport when you're talking a matter of a minute or less over the course of 21 days. Team Discovery knows how to win, so you can't count them out. Or Phonak and Landis. Yeah, it'll probably be either Ullrich or Basso. Sidenote: isn't it kinda odd that Dave Z is going to be relied upon by Basso to help him win over Dave's best friend Floyd? Did you happen to see the curent issue of Outside magazine featuring a Floyd Landis article? It relates how during the March Paris-Nice race on day 6 when a breakaway group of 19 surged ahead and the main peleton didn't follow chase when they should have, in effect hurting the GC leading Phonak team. So at the bottom of a big incline, Landis ordered his team to chase down the breakaway riders at full throttle, giving the peleton no choice but to keep pace. 10 minutes later with the peleton gasping and choking trying to keep up, Landis turned around and yelled out, "You want more of that motherf-ers? Because if you do, we've got plenty." He ended up winning that race. Now that Armstrong is out of the picture and not getting all the press coverage, turns out there's lots of good Landis stories. Should be a great Tour. I can't freaking wait!
