Yeah the Classic 900 only had a pollen filter on the cars without A/C.
Saab was first with introducing that filter on the 79 900 model.
It's called cabin, pollen, interior compartment, A/C filter and probably a couple of other names too.
Saab was pushing the pollen name in Sweden when it was introduced to make it interesting for people with allergies.
Hardly any cars from that era in Sweden were fitted with A/C so the filter was installed on pretty much all of them.
The reason I looked into this one was that I was fault tracing an A/C problem on a OG9-3 which turned out to be a bad coolant temp switch prohibiting the A/C compressor to turn on.
When I had fixed the real problem with the coolant sensor I got about 47-48°F out the center vent after some driving but it felt like the car wasn't delivering enough air through the vents and it took awhile for the cabin to cool down.
After replacing that filter, I got a lot more air out the vents and the temperature dropped to 43°F making the cabin cool down a lot quicker.
