So many variables. Could you be more specific? Loss of work? Nature of the injury? The Regulatory agencies make Tour bus companies carry $5 million policies. I don't know about the airline industry
it ends up being a formula based on age, and severity. If you broke your finger at 18 years old, or if you broke your hip at 75, or you lost your eyesight and can't drive, maybe whiplash so now you are unable to turn your head... there is a wide range, and insurance underwriters know more, and can probably explain it better.
I remember a claim that was paid "as a nuisance" for $28,000 for a "drunk" lady who fell down the steps of an old tour bus I was driving. She claimed I didn't do a good enough job of "catching" her. Can you say "pancake?" The extend of her "injuries" visible to me was smeared lipstick, and scuff mark on her eye brow... I think she squashed me enough to file a counter claim, but I never did.
