Unfortunately I was out of town over the weekend and missed this year's Woodward Dream Cruise, but it is nice (surprising?) that GM included a Saab Sonett in their official classic entourage.

GM VEHICLES GO FOR A CRUISE .... Hundreds of GM vehicles from the past, present and future crowded Woodward Ave. in Metro-Detroit this past weekend for what is considered to be the world's largest car show - the Woodward Dream Cruise.
GM played a major role in the event, staging two expansive displays. A 1931 16-cylinder, dual-windshield Cadillac touring car; a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge; the 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Racer; and a 1956 Saab Sonett SS were among the iconic GM vehicles on display. In addition, hundreds of GM enthusiasts brought their own classic rides out for a cruise.

The GM vehicle that attracted the most attention cruising down Woodward was the Chevy Camaro concept - with GM Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner behind the wheel.

"I think the most exciting thing was the number of people along the drive that were waving, cheering, beeping," Wagoner said Friday evening, following his cruise down Woodward. "It really tells you that this is a car that is going to get people excited."
