Popular Mechanics, March 1972.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Thu, 7 Sep 2006 17:48:08 In Reply to: Shed recommendation, yaofeng, Tue, 5 Sep 2006 20:41:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I built the shed pictured in the small cover photo from plans I bought from Popular Mechanics. It has been standing in my backyard since circa 1983. The outer dimensions of the concrete slab are approx 10ft x 12ft, the enclosed lower story is approx 8ft x 12ft, total height is approx 13ft. It looks better in real life than the magazine photo. I may have pictures I could e-mail you if interested and I still have a copy of the plan which I could copy and mail.
I keep all the lawn and garden equipment/tools in the lower portion. When the kids were small the upstairs was their playhouse, now it holds all the swimming pool stuff and lawn furniture during the winter months only.
My wife's college room-mate visited us the year after I built our shed and was shocked to see it. Her Dad had built the identical shed in his yard in Indiana the previous year too!
