Time of year for mice to eat your wires.

This is the time of year when mice start looking for a winter residence. They like garages and love to eat Saab wiring harnesses. The black cloth rapped stuff is really yummy and they will eat vinyl off of wires and hoses and VAC lines are good exercise.
If you store bird food in the garage or around the house, you are really asking for it. I kill the buggers every year and don't wait for signs before setting traps and setting poison bait. Some mice tried to move into our landscaping and we could see the evidence and did room service with some bait. No signs of activity any more.
Repairing damage under the hood can be a real pain. They do not have any problem getting up into things from the ground.
It is war and you can make a pre-emptive strike. If you set out poison bait, watch out for little kids, put it behind and under things where it is not at hand.
