Actually, I have and once sold a pristine '87 Turbo here a few years ago, with only 41K on it. So I know it's the place to find them. I have been researching ebay for a long time but mostly just parts, brochures and manuals show up there. Any any actual vehicles (which are rare) are usually junk. I want something really nice, like the '81 that still looked as good used as it did on the showroom floor. It was a taracotta red hatchback and it shined up like new money. I received many favorable comments on it whenever I went anywhere. Most people expressed their usual comments at its unorthodox looks but I loved it and it was extremely comfortable on long trips and was dead reliable until I sold it. I did, however, have to keep and eye on those brake pads. But that was a piece of cake.
This would just be driven locally and not a daily driver. I just think it would be neat to have one. Although I am a half-way competent "layman" mechanic, my age 63 and all around aggravation does not lead me to be interested in a fixer-upper. Somehow I think there might be just that perfect one sitting around unusued by the proverbial old lady who doesn't drive anymore but I have no real idea how to find it. Just thought I would ask around. Thanks for your quick reply.
