Ohh, this is great.
Back in the day when I had a landline it would ring incessantly with junk calls asking for either me or one of my roommates, and of course we knew this to be telemarketing.
I love to string them along and see how long they'll wait for whoever the hell they think they'll get to speak with to come to the phone, saying so and so is upstairs and will be right down. Phone is then laid to rest on kitchen table while said roomate is desperately being sought all the while he's lounging on the couch watching the same ballgame I am.
A minute or so later we'd direct the third roomate would answer the phone stating his name, and cut them off before they could direct their spiel at them stating he would go find the person being called.
Repeat until it isn't fun anymore.
A lot of them hung up by this point, how rude is that?
We had one guy on for five minutes once whereupon we'd just fess up that we'd wasted his time. Since he was being so nice and call us during football and waste ours, you know least we could do.
These days I've gone more scientific about it not just wasting their time, but actually turning the tables on them and digging for the same info they're trying to extract from me. Having a counterscript makes that task easier, have a look at this one, it covers most bases

Yeah, I realize the voice on the other end may be just like you and I, working stiffs trying to provide for them and theirs, but I truly want them to feel bad about what they do so that they won't bother me when I'm having dinner or any other time of day for that matter.
