The only unique similarity I see is the side windows extending below the belt line of the car. The other initial similarity of wheels being pushed to the corners of the car is common across almost all brands today.
Otherwise, I see the Volt being a four door sedan with a sloping rear glass, angular fender details to accentuate the wheel openings, and ugly front/rear fascias.
I see the Aero-X as a fast back coupe (very similar to the Aston-Martin DB-9 in my eyes) with softly sculpted flanks, much larger wheels/tires pushed to the edges of the car, a Saab brand identifiable front fascia, and a unique rounded rear end which is better looking than the Chevy's squared off one.
