After fighting with the blasted thing for over a week, restoring to a previous date three separate times, and jury-rigging an unsatisfactory work around, I finally found the source of the problem.
Much to the anticipated chagrin of the computer experts who frequent this BB, I use Outlook Express to access my personal e-mail account at home. I assume you do the same. The latest MicroSoft updates included something which automatically switches your e-mail access program from Outlook Express to Outlook.
Open I-E, go to Tools, go to Internet Options, go to Programs. Reset your e-mail program to Outlook Express.
Hopefully this will eliminate your problem as it did mine.
