A good rough estimate of the difference in payment can be figured this way.
Standard residuals are calculated at 15k per year. A low mileage lease is 12k and has a 1% lower residual for 24-35 months, 2% lower for 36 mos. For an ultra low mileage 10k lease it's 3% lower for 24-35mos and 4% lower at 36 mos.
So take the % lower times the MSRP divided by the term, for a rough payment difference. So $40k MSRP times 1% (12k at 24 mos) = $400 divided the term of say 24 mos is a bout $9.60 a month. So the difference is 3% at 24mos for 10k to 15k, times the MSRP 0f $40k = $1,200 divided by the term say 24 mos = $50 a month, and so forth. Got that?
