What is GM-LL-025-A? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 9 Mar 2007 03:28:41 In Reply to: What are you driving? What is this specification? Does the 5W/40 fail to meet this spec, or has Mobil simply decided not to submit it for testing?
This GM spec could even be for something as esoteric as the "oil's resistance to nuturing bacteria during long term storage in vented tanks"! An important consideration for synthetic fluids at engine manufacturing factories, but not applicable to the oil's performance in the engine.
I am curious as to what this specification measures as I typically use Mobil-1 5W/40 in both our Saabs. The 9-3SC currently has Dealer fill after our recent Free Maintenance appointment.
