I'm not the Prez. I don't need to blast out like a bat out of hell because a wacko firing shots at me.
Here's what somebody posted on another board....
Do yourself a favor and scrap those crappy RE50A's. All the fine-tuning BMW does to their suspensions are lost through the use of those shite tires.
Not only are they hard as hell, they heavy are and add unnecessary unsprung weight in addition to which they are noisy and give a harsh ride. Plus, if you blow the sidewall out you are still screwed.
I got a nail recently. Normally that would have been a $12 repair. But with runflats; oh no. You have to replace the tire.
[1] No one repairs them due to liability reasons, [2] BMW uses a staggered setup so there is no such thing as tire rotation, [3] if you have more than 2k or 3k miles on your tires and one goes bad then because of uneven tread ware you have to replace both front/rear tires at the same time.
So that little nail that used to cost $12 to repair was now going to cost me $650 for 2 new tires.
Nope, not me. I bit the bullet [as I should have done from the beginning] and put 4 new Michelin PS2's on. O.K, that was $1100 instead of $600 but the ride is now smoother and quieter, the performance and tread-life is better, and any future nail flats will once again cost a mere $12 to fix.
I mean come on, even Ferrari doesn't use runflats. Why does BMW expect their customers to be guinea pigs for unproven new crap technology..?
