There are various price points/quality lines in every manufacturer's lineup. That said, because I have to stand behind the products I recommend, I usually refer folks to Kohler, Grohe, Elkay, or Hansgrohe. Delta is fine, but in my opinion, lacks pizzaz. You will also get the manufacturer's best quality products and the widest selection at a plumbing supply showroom, not the big box stores. The Internet is an invaluable resource and I use it to check the locals' pricing prior to purchase.
Kohler's Coralais, Fairfax, and Forte have been spec'd (by the Architect or Decorator/Designer) in the last few major kitchen renovations I've done and they're relatively inexpensive.
