Yes, I know. Wool. But between the yarn twist and the superwashing, I don't find them itchy at all. They do make them in lighter weights than full hiking. I wear them almost exclusively. They aren't cheap, but they last a really long time, and are very comfortable. Try a set of the light hiking.
REI (Recreational Equipment Inc) sell their own version that are a bit cheaper and seem as good.
