Round Up will kill them but not the progeny, so it will take about 2+ weeks for the present weeds to die and by then new will have sprouted. Soil sterilizers like Eptam or Karmex are are rarely sold anymore, even with a license. I do have an applicators license to manage the weeds on our 1000 tree citrus ranch. We get control with glyphosate (RoundUp) but then use various non-chemical strategies to minimize reemergence.
So... do the right thing for you and the world: whack the weeds down; cover the area with a plastic sheet (nurseries often carry a water permeable densely woven cloth that does a great job); cover that with mulch or gravel. Probably more of a project than you had in mind but it's a long-lasting, clean method.
