Should I repair 3 annoying scratches/scuffs?

This might seem like an insignificant or silly concern, but I'm asking for input anyways...
Last night some drunk imbecile fell onto my near-pristine 2002 9-3 SE with her bicycle, placing a very deep 7" long scratch along the driver door under the mirror. The point of contact was obviously the bicycle's metal brake lever.
Frustratingly, there were witnesses who for some reason DID NOT STOP HER (?!?!wtf!?!?) and she fled the scene. The scratch is completely down to the sheetmetal. On the plus side, it is somewhat disguised by the mirror, but not really.
There are a few other very minor scratches on the car, all on the driver side. They are touched up with touch-up paint but it does not blend at all. I am thinking now it is time to get all 3 of them repaired at a body shop.
I am a student and not rolling in dough, but I am not poor either. Is it silly of me to just go ahead and fix these minor blemishes, especially since I definitely plan to keep the car for a long time? I really can't stand looking at them... this car is my absolute pride and joy and the blemishes upset me.
Or, am I absolutely out of my mind? Should I just let the car get scratched and scraped, as I live in metropolitan San Francisco (but luckily I do park my car in a covered garage)?
I am leaning toward getting them fixed, and my own estimate is that it will cost under $800. I could be wrong about that, however.
Let me know what you think, despite how over-concerned I might sound!
