The fire dept pretty quickly ruled out any smoldering inside the walls. The electric comp. & an electrician pronounced the basic house wiring OK. AC works & the HVAC guy is gonna check it all out Wednesday.
Smoke detectors are wired together so any one will set them all off. They couldn't be silenced so we replaced them already.
Telephone service was burned out at a box down the street. I don't know why it wasn't burned out at MY box right in the corner of the front yard... Phones themselves were damaged too.
About half the breakers tripped, but they just needed to be switched back on. About half the GFCI outlets tripped & maybe 3 of them are now doing lots of nuiscance trips. One dimmer-switch has become flaky.
Several solid-state electronic goodies were damaged, but not the computer. Only 1 of 3 TVs is flaky. Porchlights with motion sensors are fried.
So far, insurance covers it all (after deductible). Chimney is the biggie, followed by some shrapnel damage to the roof & patio (link to photos). Rest is nickel & dime stuff, but it adds up.
