Ya, what kind of criters are you keeping out? My friend has a cabin that has bear problems... No kidding; the black bears love to build dens under his stilt type cabin (Colorado). Latice won't keep 'em out. Razor wire and a call to the forest ranger prior to staying there did.. Over the last 8 years, the forest service has had to relocate 6 bears from there :P

My office here had problems with racoons getting in through the eaves and into the attic. Those guys would tear through plywood, welded wire fabric, and 2x decking. Metal sheeting over plywood and diligent trapping was the final solution.

My house had bats living in the old chimney (1900's victorian). Those migrate, so you could only seal up during winter or they'd find a way inside to escape....
