OK, credit card. Would you hand your credit card information to a stranger? Probably not. So why would anyone hand you their credit information over the Internet. No, credit cards are out, not only because you don't have an account, but nobody in his/her/its right mind would.

Your best bet - don't use the classifieds. They're great, but their aimed primarily at Saab-oriented folks, and you have a wider audience. And you aren't selling a tail light lens that will fit in a box you can ship at the Post Office. Shipping tires is bad news. It's possible but a pain. You want to sell the tires locally.

Your best bet is a local swap newspaper. Walk into any Quik-E-Mart and look for the general classified ads paper. Or you may even get a free paper delivered every week or so (Rare Reminder where I live). You can place an ad cheap or free. You want to sell to someone one town over. That way you can meet them in a parking lot somewhere and do a cash exchange. They can see what they're getting, and you, too. Accept only cash. Bring a friend for company and some not-so-subtle intimidation.

I did sell via the BB classifieds, but it was a set of E-code Saab headlights, which is pretty Saab specific. And I ended up selling them to someone one town over, so it was a cash deal in a parking lot. But for tires off rims, there is no need to go national.
