Yes, expensive, but so are brakes, and virtually anything you do to that car is going to cost you $750 or more at the dealer or indy. Make sure the warranty covers brakes/rotors, wheel bearings, CV joints/covers, engine gaskets (!!!), electrical components AND SWITCHES.
Surely you've had the car inspected...
And make sure you get a good price on it to reflect the high mileage. Sure 15K is average mileage, but do you really want an average car????
I'd probably keep looking for a 2003 with under 50K on it.
OTOH, if he only wants $9K for the car, buy it.
